Summer concerts

Bell lovers will have the opportunity to hear concerts this summer, during the months of July and August, notably at the Chantemerle carillon in Pully (near Lausanne) as well as at Geneva Cathedral every Saturday at 5 p.m. A festival takes place from the 16th to the 18th at the Abbey of Saint-Maurice in Valais, which carillon celebrates this year its 20th anniversary! A special organ and carillon concert will take place on September 8 where the carillon will be broadcasted inside the Abbey to allow it to be heard in duet with the great organs.

Without forgetting, of course, the Zofingen carillon which offers concerts throughout the year.

A variety of bell projects

The GCCS and the members of its committee are currently working on different bell projects: An article on the bells of the canton of Jura has just been published in the magazine "Campanae Helveticae" and another on the bells of the canton of Solothurn is in preparation.

The extension of the Montheron carillon, near Lausanne, is the subject of intensive work. Bell concerts are organized in Zurich and Bern, and many projects aim to make the sound more beautiful and, where necessary, a little less loud, through the careful development of better clappers, so that local residents and passers-by rejoice again at the sound of the bells.
